My name is Elaine Harcourt. I have five grown kids & 8 grandchildren.  I was born & raised in Wichita, KS & after being away for a number of years returned in late '79. I am the secretary for the Sunflower State Gospel Music Association as well as co-moderator of these lists. I work as a receptionist for an architectural firm. Southern Gospel music is my life. I got introduced to it following my divorce & my second husband & I traveled all over the area to attend concerts. Following his death 5 years ago, I have had to scale back my traveling but still manage to go fairly often. Southern Gospel Music lifts my spirits, encourages my walk with the Lord, & inspires me to keep on keepin' on. God has blessed me in so many ways since my return to Him in 1986. He has given me more friends than I ever had before & has given me a new boldness I never would have thought possible. He's my friend & guide in all I do. I don't sing or play music but I am blessed by the talents of others. When I am at a concert, you will find me as close to the front row as I can get. I don't want to miss a thing.

Greetings! My name is Patty Stewart, I live the tiny town of Maize, Ks. That is about 7 miles north of Wichita. I am married to a wonderful man, Terry, who is our sound man and have a beautiful 17 year old daughter, Melissa. I was raised in a Christian home, but like so many, didn't get serious about serving the Lord until my late 20's. Through the years, God has been my savior, guide, friend, the very source of my strength, I have never had a better friend, He is always faithful and trustworthy!....I was introduced to Gospel Music at a very young age, my home church where I grew up was a very big supporter of Gospel Music, I was privileged to meet quite a few traveling music ministers, several stayed in our home, Mom always had room for one more...at the time most were just starting out, but many have gone on to be quite successful. I always knew that I wanted to sing and testify about what God had done for me, but I just never thought I would be privileged to. Our group, The Huffman Family Gospel Band consist of my 2 brothers, Bob is a preacher/drummer, Ed, a Preacher/Singer/Saxophonist (who is also the President of the Sunflower State Gospel Music Association), 2 Sisters-in-law, Marie a Singer/Keyboard player, Cheryl our bookkeeper/Girl Friday, Marie's father, Bill Bernard, a Guitarist/Singer, Cheryl's nephew, Phil Epp Guitar/Singer, John Miller, Singer/Harmonica/Bass, and Darla Ostrander Singer/Keyboard. We travel just about every weekend to sing and share God's message. I never get tired of sharing in song, it has become the most satisfying and rewarding thing I have ever done. God has been so good to me, to allow me to sing and share about His goodness, and for me to really enjoy doing it, never getting enough of it, is a double blessing! When John asked me to assist him as Co-moderator, I was sure he'd lost his mind, but while I don't get to spend a lot of time talking with the members (I wish I had more hours in the day), I do read each entry, and have enjoyed the many subjects discussed. I have learned a lot by your sharing and have come to think of each of you as a friend. I especially like to read about the prayer and praise reports.....I want to thank John for giving of his time to put something like this together...Love ya John! You'll get your reward someday!!

My name is Scott Evans.  I was born in Corning, NY on May 31, 1965 to two wonderful Christian Parents, Glenn and Betty Evans.  I have one brother and three sisters.  Having the privilege of growing up in a Christian Home I came to know Christ at an early age.  As a matter of fact I was only six years old when I got saved!  Since that time I have learned to always trust God and he will never let you down.

Obviously New York State is not a hot bed for Southern Gospel Music.  My earliest exposure to Southern Gospel Music was attending outdoor concerts featuring The Jacobs Brothers from Dillsburg, PA when I was about 7 or 8 years old.  I loved the music then and I continue to today.  I was in High School when I discovered the Kingsmen, Cathedrals, Hemphills, Talleys, Nelons  and many others.  Since then I have been an avid fan of Southern Gospel Music!  In 1998, through a transfer on my job, I relocated to Lancaster, PA.  This changed my exposure to "live" Southern Gospel Music from a couple of concerts a year to a couple of concerts a month!  I now regularly attend all Garden Spot Promotions and Gospel Barn Promotions concerts as well as many others in this area and beyond.

In December of 1999 I decided to try my hand at Web Site Designing!  I had never done this before and my idea was to create a page that was dedicated to Southern Gospel Music in Pennsylvania!  On December 15, 1999 I uploaded the Pennsylvania Southern Gospel Website for the very first time and I have been completely overwhelmed by the response to it!  Through this website I have become the Web Master for several other Southern Gospel Website including the Southern Gospel Music Forum (the website that you are on right  now)!  My goal in all of this is to help uplift the name of Christ through this great music that we call Southern Gospel.  My goal as a Christian is to seek God's Will for my life and to always be a witness for Him in all I say and do!

Thanks and God Bless!
